Top Gun: Maverick

The action drama film directed by Joseph Kosinski has Tom Cruise and Val Kilmer reprising their roles from the 1986 movie Top Gun as Captain Pete ‘Maverick’ Mitchell and Admiral Tom ‘Iceman’ Kazansky respectively. Written by Ehren Kruger Eric Warren Singer and Christopher McQuarrie from a story conceived by Peter Craig and Justin Marks the plot revolves around the test pilot Maverick who purposely dodges an advancement in rank after thirty years of service as it would ground him. Eventually he is put in charge of training a group of Top Gun graduates for a specialised mission under the orders of Iceman the commander of the US Pacific fleet who is his naval aviator friend and former rival. Among them is Lieutenant Bradley ‘Rooster’ Bradshaw who is the son of Maverick’s late best friend Nick ‘Goose’ Bradshaw who feels a lot of animosity towards him. The film navigates how Maverick deals with his pupils and the animosity he has to face from certain people along with his love for aviation. The cast includes Miles Teller Jennifer Connelly Jon Hamm Glen Powell Lewis Pullman and Ed Harris among others.
