We had reported that SJ Suryah was playing the antagonist in the upcoming Sivakarthikeyan-starrer, Don. Now, it has been confirmed that he's playing professor Bhoominathan in it. Don, which was scheduled to release in March earlier, has been postponed to hit the screens on May 13.

Directed by newbie Cibi Chakravarthy, an associate of Atlee, Don features Priyanka Arul Mohan, Cook with Comali fame Sivaangi, Kaali Venkat, Bala Saravanan, Soori Munishkanth and Samuthirakani, in crucial roles.

Cibi Chakravarthy had first met SJ Suryah while Atlee was filming for Mersal. In an interview, Cibi reportedly stated that he had written Bhoominathan, having SJ Suryah in mind. SJ Suryah was last seen playing the negative role in Simbu's Maanaadu, directed by Venkat Prabhu.

Don has music by Anirudh Ravichander. Both Sivakarthikeyan and Anirudh had collaborated on films including Ethir Neechal, Maan Karate, Remo, and Doctor.

Touted as a youthful entertainer set in a college backdrop, the film will have Sivakarthikeyan playing a college student for the first time. A few months ago, Cibi took to social media saying how it has been a pleasure for him to work with SJ Suryah. His tweet read, "SJ Suryah is done with the Don dubbing. Enjoyed every day of my shoot, and dubbing too. Your sensibility is your great quality. Thanks for the warm opportunity."

The director also shared a photo with the actor. Both were seen sitting in the studio and posing for a picture. The makers had started shooting in February, last year.

Don is jointly produced by Sivakarthikeyan Productions and Lyca Productions. Sivakarthikeyan, meanwhile, has Ayalaan, with R Ravikumar and an untitled film with a debutant director, in his kitty.

SJ Suryah, on the other hand, is likely to play an important role in Ram Charan's much-hyped upcoming film (tentatively titled RC15), directed by Shankar Shanmugam. Further, he's a part of Vishal-Aadhik Ravichandran's project and Bommai.
