Siva in Don

Don, starring Sivakarthikeyan in the titular role, was initially supposed to hit the screens on March 25. But the announcement by the makers of RRR on the film's arrival on the same date made the former postpone its release to May 13. Debutante Cibi Chakaravarthi has directed the movie which has Priyanka Mohan playing the female lead.

The comic caper brings together Siva and Priyanka for the second time after Doctor (streaming on Netflix) which was released in October. The makers have already released two singles from Don which went on to become hits.

Anirudh has composed music for the project which has been bankrolled by Sivakarthikeyan Productions and Lyca Productions. Samuthirakani, RJ Vijay, Soori, Balasaravanan, Sivaangi and Kaali Venkat will be seen essaying key roles in the film which has SJ Suryah essaying the antagonist's role. Sivakarthikeyan plays an engineering student for the first time in Don.

The makers have now announced that Udhayanidhi's Red Giant Movies has bagged the movie's theatrical rights in Tamil Nadu. Both the production houses behind the film expressed happiness for associating with the actor-politician's distribution house. Interestingly, Red Giant Movies has been bagging the theatrical rights of almost all the big ticket Tamil films this year. Prabhas' Radhe Shyam, Vijay's Beast and Kamal Haasan's Vikram are a few of them.

Nagooran and KM Bhaskaran are in charge of the film's editing and cinematography respectively while Vicky has choreographed stunt sequences for Don. Shobi and Sandy have composed dance movements for the movie.

Don is Siva's second film to be released in the pandemic era. There were various speculations on his previous outing, Doctor, skipping theatrical release, but the makers managed to bring it to the big screen.
