Baked Season 3
The third season of the comedy-drama show chronicles the life of three best friends after they meet again post a long duration.
The first season introduces how the three students come together, become friends and after suffering enough from hunger at midnight start their own mini restaurant that use to deliver food to students during the night. While, as the second season of the show ends, Haris (Pranay Manchanda), Oni (Shantanu Anam) and Body (Manik Papneja) fall apart. The third season of this easy-breezy show begins by introducing what the three protagonists are currently doing in their life.
As it is a comedy-drama, you expect nothing less than that and while reintroducing the characters, Baked takes us on a laughter riot with its comic timing. Manik Papneja's Body gives the audience the most shocker as he is married and trying to understand his father's least interesting business. He tries to escape his mundane life and decides to have a trip to Kasauli with his old mates.
Further, the series takes the audience to its past and displays what happened that tear apart their friendship. It also dives into Haris' love life history and also reveals the reason for his break up. This calls for applause to the makers and writers, as someone who is watching the series for the first time won't be lost amid the episodes as all the main details have been revisited in the latest instalment.
Baked also features a few new characters to the show. During their road trip to Kasauli, the trio meets the famous DJ Chunky Panday (played by Chunky Panday himself), who steals their car and never returns it back. The veteran actor's aura adds to the comedy sequences of the show.
Although, with comedy, Baked also has an emotional angle to it. Amid their road trip, after losing their car to a celebrity they find themselves in a village getting convicted for escaping an innocent girl. The series further unveils that girl has been running from her home to get admitted to a university for higher education but doesn't succeed as she accidentally trips in front of Body and gets caught. Meanwhile, later, the three boys decide to escape the girl for real for a greater cause. The comedy-drama reflects the truth of the rural society of India and its orthodox beliefs.
After so much emotion and drama, the show again takes a funny route and finally, the trio ends up in Kasauli. The title of the show finally justifies it as at the end of the series, Uni begins a food startup along with Haris and Body, and their new adventures foray.
The third season of Baked has everything, from comedy to drama to social a message. Chunky Panday's cameo is one of the interesting angles to uplift the comedy-driven show.
Among all the good things, the series seemed in a hurry to get to its end. While exploring more with the trio's friendship wouldn't have been a bad idea.
The easy-breezy show is a good watch filled with humour and drama.
