KGF: Chapter 2 — Yash’s action entertainer sold to an OTT for record amount?

KGF: Chapter 2 has dominated the Indian box office for multiple weeks now, and has also set records one after the other. The latest reports coming out about the movie suggests that it has now taken to the OTT space to set new records. 

As reported by Time of India, the movie’s OTT streaming rights has been acquired by a popular OTT platform for a record amount. The rights have been acquired for a whopping Rs. 320 crores according to the report. It has also been reported that the movie will start streaming on the platform from May 27.

The makers are yet to confirm any news regarding the movie’s OTT release. KGF: Chapter 1 is available to stream on Amazon Prime Video. 

KGF: Chapter 2 has already crossed the Rs.1000 crore mark worldwide, making it only the fourth Indian movie to do so. The movie has also been a massive hit in the Hindi speaking belts and its dubbed version has also set a number of box office records. 

Directed by Prashanth Neel, the movie has Yash reprise his role as Rocky from the 2018 movie. Following the anti-hero on his rise to becoming the biggest criminal in India, the movie hit theatres on April 14. It received positive reviews from fans and critics following its release. 

“Rocking Star Yash’s fans can rejoice. If he announced his arrival as a pan-Indian star with Chapter 1, with Chapter 2 he proclaims that he’s here to stay,'' reads the movie’s review on OTTplay.

Also starring Sanjay Dut, Raveena Tandon, Srinidhi Shetty and Prakash Raj in important roles, the movie is available in theatres around the world.
